África, la acción de los sentidos en Canarias

Bajo el nombre "Forma, color y sonido. África, la acción de los sentidos." la colección de instrumentos de Javier Ballesteros se adentra en las Islas Canarias, recalando en Las Palmas, Lanzarote y Fuerteventura.

Para este viaje se ha contado con la colaboración de grandes personalidades como: D. J. Kenneth Moore, Presidente del Comité Internacional de Museos y Colecciones de Instrumentos Musicales y Conservador jefe de Instrumentos de Música de la Frederik P. Rose del Museo Metropolitan de Arte de Nueva York y Dª. Sally Brown, conservadora del Departamento de Instrumentos Musicales del Museo Metropolitan de Nueva York. Ellos ha participada en la elaboración del nuevo catalogo, la presentación de la exposición y junto con Javier Ballesteros (padre e hijo) y Orlando Franco realizaron el pasado mes de noviembre un seminario sobre la música tradicional en África.

La inaguración de la exposición en las Palmas contó con la actuación de Babacar Dieng y de uno de los koristas que tocan con su grupo ''Los Diengoz'' (Senegal), que amenizarón con su música la tradicional griot a los numerosos visitantes que se dieron cita en el C.I.C.C.A.de las Palmas el pasado 22 de noviembre.

En esta ocasión, la exposición está comisionadaa por PROA,Gestión y Producción de Actividades Culturales S.L., que han realizado un espectacular montaje donde han resaltado el caracter estético de los instrumentos por encima de su caracter funcional o didáctico. Durante los próximos meses eestá tendrá su continuidad en Lanzarote y Fuerteventura. Publicaremos las fechas definitivas de estas exposicines en los próximos dias.
